What is repentance?

To repent simply means 'to turn’. Specifically, to turn away from our sin and turn to God.

Repentance is more than feeling sorry or regretful. It requires humility, acknowledging we have sinned against God and gone our own way. It is a decision in which we turn and follow God’s way and obey his instruction.

Real repentance is an essential condition of God’s acceptance and it is met with his amazing grace. God responds with forgiveness and restoration and he removes the heavy burden of guilt.

This is urgent

The time for repentance is right now — the window of opportunity for repentance will soon be closed. Nobody knows the day or the hour when God will draw the curtain on this age. But once it is closed, it will not be opened again. God is urging all who will listen to repent and come into his kingdom now. Urgency is needed.
